Sonny Reflections and New Changes

Well my summer with Sonny is over. It was a great experience with a great horse. True he acted like an Arabian like all of the time, but he was a joy. He taught me alot about myself. I am braver than I thought and more willing to try new things. Plus, I am not all that afraid of bailing any more.
When I was with him, he tried and tested me every time. Sonny was NOT and I repeat, NOT, a beginner's horse. So why did I work him? For the pure joy and challenge of it. I have never been all that afraid of riding those horses that are green or the ones that no one really wants to ride, so Sonny was my boy. We did have our moments whenRegf it was a battle of wills, but we always ending on a good note.
No more am I afraid of trying new things, asking questions or talking to the farrier. This experience has given me more confidence than I thought I already had. I am a confident person, just to brag on myself, but this was a definite confidence boost. No longer did I feel like I needed someone around to watch me when I rode. No longer did I feel like I needed someone to tell me what needed to be done. It was a good feeling.
Now I will no longer bore you with the boring stories of teh summer on my boy Sonny. If you want to know, we could always swap horse stories. But I feel like this blog needs a new name. With much contemplation and guidance from Jo in Little Women , I have decided that I will write about what I know or at least my pleasures. I am a simple girl with simple passions. So why write about the things I love:God, horses and literature. Yes thats right.
So you can look forward to the next post which will be about one of those lovely subjects.
Go with God!

  1. Thank you for the blog comment. =) I didn't include Marianne Dashwood, etc, as 2nd oldests' because I was focused on those from families of four or five sisters (five like my own family). =)
