Every October, a fabulous thing happens! The All American Quarter Horse Congress comes to Ohio! Oh yes! A whole month of nothing but horses, shopping and more horses! what more could a girl want?
Well, just last weekend, the Congress began. Being on Fall Break, I bought a month long pass for the car, checked my bank account and took my Dad with me because it was Congress time.
We wondered around the fair grounds. All the different vendors selling anything and everything from saddles to bridles, puppies to breeches, mashed potato sundaes to lemon shake 'ems.
While wondering, I spotted a great deal: a saddle, bridle, bit, stirrup leathers and irons and a girth all for the low price of $150. Plus it came in the classic color, black!
What do you think I did?
Well I went and watched a horse show with my Dad. I couldn't buy all that right now. I don't own a horse and most likely won't until I get out of college. So I left it.
My Dad and I left with the thoughts of coming back to the Congress the next day with the whole family. We returned and watched a hunter show all day. Let my tell you, there are a very few things that can compare to watching a horse and rider in harmony like that while hanging out with the family.
Anyway, I showed my Mom the saddle that I wanted when we first arrived. I left it again, but the entire time i was there, I thought of nothing else. So, when we were getting ready to leave, I took my sister for moral support and bought the saddle with all the fixings! The feeling was great! I had my very own saddle!
Its not all leather but the seat and the skirt is. Its all black and smells great! Its sitting in my room at home, making the room smell of leather, my second favorite smell.
I love it! There are no regrets in this purchase.
My only problem is, when will I get to try it out?
