So November is National Novel Writing Month. I was introduced to this last year and even tried my hand at it. Needless to say, I failed. School and life got in the way, but not this year, my friends. Oh no, I am going to win this year! I even got my sister into it, so we shall see how this fabulous goes!
Anyway, every month Kylie at Further Up and Further In asks questions every month pertaining to the writing and characters that bloggers are currently working on. This month's 10 questions are geared toward NaNoWriMo. I thought I would give you, dear reader, a glimpse into this unborn novel.
Enjoy!
Sum up your novel in five words or less.
American girl in London society.
Novel title?
The Season (this might change, but I am quite fond of it)
Sum up your main character(s) in one word each.
Maggie Bension - bull-headed
Lydia Willoughby - gentle
Advice for newbies in three words?
I am a newbie myself. I keep reading of drinking copious amounts of coffee though. But, honestly, everyone should drink copious amounts of coffee. ;)
Tell us about your secondary characters, how do they affect the story?
Haven't truly developed them yet. But they will drive the story, cause vast amounts of drama, and provide the entertainment.
Do you plan to stay up till midnight on the 31st?
Seeing that I am a college student and 12am is our 8pm, then of course I will be up at 12am on the 31st.
How many years have you done NaNo?
I attempted last year and failed miserably. So I am going to call a "mulligan" and say, this is my first year.
What came first, characters, or plot idea?
Oh it depends. Sometimes I will come up with a character and make a story around them. This time the plot fell into my lap and the characters wandered up to me.
How much prep do you do before November?
Right now I am outlining like a fool.
Now be honest, how do you really feel about NaNo?
Nervous. Excited. Honestly more excited than nervous. I have wanted to write this for a while now and just started doing some research on the subject and became horribly excited!
So there you have it! I will be posting this month about the progress of this novel. For my friends who are participation, good luck!
May your mind not be blocked, and your pen full of ink!
