Encouraging Day

So remember how I got a horse several months ago? Well I have been a terrible horse mom. Yes, I will admit it. I have not gone out to the barn as much as I should have, leaving my gelding, Nestle, to feel too free. The last couple times I went out to the barn, he wouldn't even let me catch him!
But today was totally different!
The whole family went to the barn (by the way, thats means eight of us). The youngest three (two girls and a boy) were playing with the barn cats. The older two (a girl and a boy) stayed with my parents and me while we tried to catch Nestle.
Well he struggled some, but we got him! I put his bridle on without any trouble from him. He just took the bit! It was awesome!!!
I meant to put his saddle on, but sadly, his girth was too short for his fat belly. :)
Anyway, I lunged him for a bit and he did great! He went through his paces fabulously!
Since it was hot, we worked for only 15 or so minutes. So we decided to see how he would take to someone riding him. My brother got on bareback and Nestle did wonderfully!!! With all this going on for him, I ended up putting all my sibings plus my dad on him!
It was so encouraging to see him working well and listening to me. He could have been a brat but no he was wonderful!
Honestly, I think God whispered into his ear this morning and told him to behave. :)
